A closed detention facility is a secure facility characterized by static security measures (e.g. camera surveillance, fences, locks, alarms), limited freedom of movement of those in detention, and different levels of security (such as maximum, medium and minimum). Individuals can be incarcerated in this facilities from the beginning of their sentence.
