CIMI Los Alcores

CIMI Los Alcores (Spanish: Centro Para Menores Infractores) is a center for juvenile offenders, it is located in Carmona, Southern Spain and established in 1998. It is part of the Diagrama Foundation, which has more than 35 secure educational centers throughout Europe and aims to support vulnerable people at risk of social exclusion. For young people to rehabilitate, they need a lot of family involvement and support. CIMI Los Alcores is described as a re-education center that focuses mainly on fostering autonomy and the facility is divided into two zones: a therapeutic zone and a non-therapeutic zone. This division allows for targeted interventions and treatments aimed at addressing the specific needs of the individuals in their care.

SMALL-SCALE

The facility has space for 104 people, which is why it cannot be described as a small-scale facility. CIMI Los Alcores is divided into a therapeutic zone with 48 beds, and a non-therapeutic zone with 56 beds. Each zone is again divided into several units, each with around twelve beds. Every unit has a different level of autonomy, depending on the security level. Every resident at the facility has their own private sleeping room and bathroom. The facility is equipped with several shared living rooms and kitchens.

People can stay in this facility from the beginning of their sentence.
